Victoria College’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Program offers EMT through Paramedic courses leading to a certificate or AAS degree.
The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is the first level of certification. Students enter into the EMS Program in this course. It is a one semester course offered in the fall, spring and summer semesters. This is a certificate only program. Follow the link below under Apply to the Program for registration dates.
Upon completion of requisite courses, students are eligible to take the National Registry of EMT (NREMT) exam, which is necessary to apply for certification or licensure by the Texas Department of State Health Services.
The Paramedic is the highest certification level. Students may complete with a Paramedic certificate and be eligible to be certified or complete the AAS Degree Plan and be licensed by TDSHS.
EMS is a selective admissions program. You must complete all prerequisites, which include immunizations, TSI complete, interview with Coordinator and application approval.
Victoria College EMS program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).
